If your pool is inspected, the first thing the inspector will ascertain is what date the pool barrier was installed. The key dates here are before 1 August 1990 (Section 8 exemption) between 1 August 1990 (AS1926-1986 and Swimming Pool Regulations 1998) and 1 September 2008 to 30 April 2013 (AS1926.1-2007) and after 1 May 2013 (AS1926.1 2012). If your pool does not comply with the initial inspection and requires re-inspection it must then be inspected to comply with AS 1926.1 – 2012.
